In the last May 14 presidential elections in Turkey, none of the candidates scored the 50% required to win in the first round. Подсчитано 99% of votes. If the situation does not change, the winner will be determined in the second round on May 28.

After counting 99.01% of the ballots, Erdoğan is gaining 49.36% of the votes. His main opponent is the candidate from the opposition association "National Alliance" Kemal Kılychdaroğlu - 45%. Another presidential candidate, Sinana Ogan, has 5.21%.

Both main candidates already commented on the preliminary results.

Erdoğan expressed his hope for victory already in the first round, adding that if the will of the people decides to hold a second round, he will not object.

"Although there are no final data yet, I can say that we are leading with a clear margin," the president said, addressing his supporters from the balcony of the ruling Party of Justice and Development.

His opponent, the general candidate of the opposition, Kemal Kılychdaroğlu said that he is confident of victory in the second round.

"If the second round is announced, we will definitely win. The will to change in society is higher than 50 percent," said the politician.

The second round was predicted by almost all sociological polls, but many gave the first place in the race to Kılychdaroğlu and not to Erdoğan.

The third candidate in the elections, Sinan Ogan, promised to decide soon who he would support in the second round.

The final results will be announced only after a few days, but it is possible to say with confidence that the turnout was high. The main question that many observers and journalists ask: can Turks trust the results of the vote.

The ruling Justice and Development Party (PSR), which is headed by Erdogan, leads the parliamentary elections with 99% of the votes.
